1. Collection and Processing of Non-personal Data
When the user visits our website, the computer system of Macao Government Tourism Office (“MGTO”) will collect the user’s data, including the user’s domain name, IP address and region; our system will also record the pages the user visit on our website, time and date of the user visit as well as the domain name of the website which directs the user to our site through its hyperlink, etc.

Under general circumstances, we will use the abovementioned information only to compile statistics. Only in cases of illegal activities (e.g. attacking our website), we may provide our collected data to law enforcement authorities for their criminal investigations. The law enforcement authorities may use such data to trace and bring the lawbreaker to justice.

2. Collection and Processing of Personal Data
During use of electronic services on our website, the user may be requested to provide the user’s personal information as required by our services. When processing these data, our staff will comply with the Personal Data Protection Act of the Macao Special Administrative Region. Our processing of the user’s personal data will be regulated under confidentiality measures, and the data will be safely archived. The collected personal data will be kept no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which they are obtained, or until the end of its retention period stipulated by the Government. All the data will be erased accordingly afterwards.

Our website will take adequate information security measures to ensure the user’s personal data are protected during our transmission and storage of the data the user submits on our website.

When the user send us an email, please note that the user is taking a risk to a certain extent by sending information on the public network, e.g. the user’s personal data may be seen, intercepted or used by unauthorized third parties. These websites the user visit is not governed by the privacy statement of our website. The terms of use and privacy policy of these websites may also be different from those of our website. Therefore, we advise the user to read the privacy policies of these websites first. MGTO is not liable for any form of loss or damage resulting from use of these websites.

5. Modifications to the Privacy Statement
In case of update of the privacy statement, we will post the updated version in place of the old version and specify the date of last update at the end of the privacy statement without further notice.
